Herbert Clark Hoover, 1874-1964.  31st President of the United States, 1929-1933.  Typed Letter Signed, Herbert Hoover, as President-Elect, one page, 7¼" x 10¾", on imprinted personal stationery, Stanford University, California, November 16, 1928.

Ten days after being elected President, Hoover writes to thank Yale University President James Angell for his congratulations and his help during the campaign.

This letter has a beautiful blue fountain pen signature.  It has two normal mailing folds, one of which slightly affects the signature; slight paper separation at the right end of the top fold; and a pinhead-size hole in the fold next to the inside address.  Overall the letter is in fine condition.
