Thomas Woodrow Wilson, 1856-1924.  28th President of the United States, 1913-1921.  Typed Letter Signed, Woodrow Wilson, one page, 7" x 8¾", on stationery of The White House, Washington, [D.C.], November 23, 1916.

Wilson, having won reelection by a narrow margin some two weeks earlier, exhibits humility as he thanks Wall Street financier S. R. Bertron for his congratulatory letter.  In full:  “Your message gave me the deepest pleasure.  I wish I felt more worthy of the great trust imposed in me."

This letter is very nice.  It shows a bit of rippling at the left margin, but it is in very fine condition overall.  Wilson has boldly signed in gray-blue fountain pen.

Unframed.
