Truman signs the place card of the New York Timesʼ White House correspondent

Harry S. Truman, 1884-1972.  33rd President of the United States, 1945-1953.  Dinner place card boldly inscribed and signed Thanks for a grand  /  evening  /  Harry S. Truman.

This is an excellent association piece.  It is the dinner place card of Felix Belair (1908-1978), the longtime White House correspondent for The New York Times, from the 24th annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington, D.C., on March 1, 1947.  Truman has inscribed and signed it in black ink.  There is a little dampstaining, which affects Belair's name and barely touches the "a" in "Truman."  Overall the card is in very good to fine condition.

Unframed.  Please click here for information about custom framing this piece.
