1431577 George Armstrong Custer Scroll down to see images of the item below the description
Bold, black ink signature of General Custer George Armstrong Custer, 1839–1876. Lt. Colonel, United States Army; Brevet Major General of Volunteers. Signature, G A Custer / U S Arm[y]. Custer has penned this large, 3½" signature on a 1⅞" x 3⅞" slip of paper and has written “U S Army" beneath it. It appears that the "y" has been trimmed from the paper, which has been tipped to a 2¾" x 4" card. Glue stains show through the paper at the top right, the right end, and the bottom, affecting the U S Arm[y] notation but not Custerʼs strong signature. There is minor bleeding and brushing, not obtrusive, to the "ter" in the signature. Overall the piece is in very good to fine condition. Unframed.
