1435601 Grover Cleveland Scroll down to see an image of the item below the description
Signed Executive Mansion card, likely from Clevelandʼs first term Stephen Grover Cleveland, 1837-1908. Governor of New York, 1883-1884; 22nd President of the United States, 1885-1889; 24th President of the United States, 1893-1897. 4½" x 2¾" Executive Mansion card boldly signed, Grover Cleveland. Given the size of the signature, this card likely dates from the first term of Cleveland, the only person ever to serve two non-consecutive terms as President. Most of Cleveland's undated Executive Mansion cards, as this one is, were signed during his first term. Cleveland has signed this with a large 3" signature. His first-term signatures were generally larger than those that he signed during his second term. This Executive Mansion card is in fine condition. There are a couple of small stains in blank areas and a bit of soiling at the right that is not as pronounced as the scan suggests, There are mounting remnants on the back from prior mounting in an album. Cleveland has boldly signed it in black. Unframed. Please click here for information about custom framing this piece.
