Dwight D. Eisenhower

Dwight David Eisenhower, 1890-1969.  General of the Army; Supreme Commander, Allied Expeditionary Force, World War II; 34th President of the United States, 1953-1961.  Official National League baseball, signed on the sweet spot, Dwight D. Eisenhower, in black.

This ball dates from the period of Eisenhower's presidency or after it.  It bears the name of National League President Warren Giles, who was the league president from 1951 to 1969.

Since this is a National League baseball, and since at that time the baseballs used in World Series games were those of the league of the home team, this ball could date from the first game of the 1956 World Series, and thus from Eisenhower's presidency.

Baseballs signed by Eisenhower are very popular and not easily found.  This ball has a strong black pen signature and is signed on the sweet spot as well.  The ball itself looks to be game used, but overall it is in fine to very fine condition.
