Charles Evans Hughes, 1862-1948. Associate Justice, United States Supreme Court, 1910-1916; Chief Justice of the United States, 1930-1941. Magnificent 8" x 10" formal portrait photograph by Harris & Ewing, in the original presentation folder, boldly signed Charles E. Hughes. With original mailing envelope addressed by Hughes with a second signature, Charles E. Hughes, in the return address.

This photograph is in very fine condition, with only a small ink mark at right keeping us from describing it as extra fine. The accompanying envelope is accomplished in black fountain pen. It has some staining in the upper left corner that barely affects the "Ch" in "Charles" but overall is in fine condition.
