Theodore Roosevelt, 1858-1919.  26th President of the United States.  Very fine condition postmaster appointment Document Signed, Theodore Roosevelt, Washington, D.C., March 12, 1907.  Countersigned by Postmaster General George Von L. Meyer.

This is a beautiful document in which Roosevelt appoints William T. Elliott postmaster at Houston, Missouri.  The gold foil seal is perfect and completely intact, and Roosevelt's signature is 5" long.  The document has a bit of age toning and scattered wrinkles from being rolled up for a century, but it is a beautiful, bright document

The document has been double matted in black suede with an inlaid gilt fillet, a portrait of Roosevelt, and an engraved brass identification plate and is framed in a black and gilt wood frame.
