Henry Morgenthau, Jr., 1891-1967.  Secretary of the Treasury, 1934-1945.  Typed Letter Signed, H Morgenthau Jr, one page, octavo, on stationery of the Secretary of the Treasury, Washington, [D.C.], January 8, 1934.

Morgenthau thanks Wall Street financier S. R. Bertron for congratulations upon assuming office.  He adds:  “I appreciate your word of good will, as well as your desire to cooperate in carrying out the President's program."

The letter has one horizontal mailing fold, which barely touches the “J" in “Jr,” a paper clip impression in the upper margin, a couple of handling bends, and a pencil notation identifying Morgenthau at the lower right.  Overall it is in fine condition.

Unframed.
